Company

Fressnapf is a German franchise company for pet food with over 1400 stores. The ecommerce share is growing steadily and therefore the company puts a stronger focus on it. Since there was a huge demand for UI / UX and the team was still quite small, I came in to support various product teams.

Approach

Since the designers mostly worked for themselves, only exchanging ideas with their POs – they used Sketch. However, the goal was to increase the UX team fast and strengthen collaboration within the team. So we decided to switch from Sketch to Figma – also because I had accompanied the transition recently at mobile.de – with extremely positive feedback.

Project

Setting up Figma as the standard design tool to work collaboratively in the UX team – as it is expected to grow further.

Creation of a shared design system with components that are used across the online shop and app. The new brand design as well as the happy colors and typography were created by an external agency. Additionally I created master templates for all relevant pages. This significantly accelerated the work on new topics.

Working on various topics like the integration of PAYBACK, improvements of the cart and checkout, adding more personalization, a new subscription program with discount and ideation on the future of fressnapf.de.
